Mr. İhsan Onnik, known as Effendi Onnik İhsan, who also served as a member of parliament representing Izmir during the 2nd Constitutional Era, was a very experienced writer in the area of agriculture. Effendi Onnik İhsan, who used the name İhsan in his books, wrote very precious books on agriculture. Many of these books are distinctive and special due to the fact that they were printed in Izmir Printing Houses.
We are very happy to have in our archive most of the books written by Effendi İhsan Onnik, who wrote about agriculture, the basis of food culture. We will share with you some excerpts from his books.
Starting from 1915, Mr. İhsan wrote some of the modern and pioneering books of his period, with the participation of women, under the title of Kadınlara Amelî Sanayi-i Zıraiye Dersleri written in Ottoman Turkish alphabet. He was a pioneer figure for women, driving the women forward in business life. This aspect of his books was one of the reasons why his books were very important.
We will introduce all the books written by Effendi İhsan Onnik, who wrote 6 books that teach women the practice of agriculture under the title of Kadınlara Amelî Sanayi-i Ziraiye Dersleri. Each of these books are wonderful illustrated books.
