Kali Bitu. Bamboo Kali. Headrest. This kali bitu is made from composite materials and consists of a long cylindrical segment of bitu (bamboo) for the tolo ni kali (body of the kali), two triangular yava ni kali (support yava ni kali) made of kau (wood), and magimagi (coconut sennit) lashing securing the components together. The bitu is cylindrical in shape, and incised with depictions of four ika (fish) and three vonu (turtles) as well as the word 'SOMOSOMO' in capital letters. The bitu, naturally sealed at both ends, is a tan brown colour and the wooden yava ni kali are a dark brown colour.
