Kamadhenu

The cow is considered a sacred animal in Hinduism. Kamadhenu is considered the cow-deity, mother of all cows who harbors in her body many of the deities of the Hindu pantheon. The fact that Shiva's mount is the Nandi bovine also strengthens this divine character linked to the animal.
