The piano standing in the corner of the room did not belong to the composer but he often played on it at the home of his doctor, Olgierd Sokołowski. It was to the husband and wife Julia and Olgierd Sokołowski that he dedicated the Violin Concerto No. 2 op. 56. At ‘Atma’, he worked using a Petroff piano leased from Franciszka Kulpińska, the owner of the Gerlach guest home on Krupówki street. The Gebrüder Stingl Ku.K. Hof Clavier Fabrikanten piano was entrusted to the National Museum in Krakow by Dr Julia Sokołowska in 1975.
