Katana Sword Known as "Atakigiri"

Koshirae means exterior equipmenrs of a sword，largely comprised of three parts，saya，tuba and tsuka. This koshirae with a vivid contrast of blue lacquered saya and gold arareji textile used to belong to a master sword called "Ataki-giri" owned by Josui Kuroda，founder of the Fukuoka Clan. It is known as the work of Myoju Umetada，a master of the Momoyama period，from the signature "Kohata Myoju"inscribed in the habaki part.
