Kazimierz Dolny, Poland

Wacław Ujejski was a painter, set designer and illustrator, who would come to Kazimierz all the way back during the interwar period as a student of Tadeusz Pruszkowski. The fragment of architecture framed in this work is the corner of Kazimierz most frequently painted by artists. It presents the back of a tenement located by the market, as seen from the Small Market. On the right, we can see the façade of the synagogue. Signed in the bottom right-hand corner: W. Ujejski
