Kaziukas Fair

Kaziukas Fair (Kaziuko mugė) is one of the oldest and most beloved traditions in Vilnius, celebrated every March in honor of St. Casimir, the patron saint of Lithuania. Dating back to the 17th century, the fair transforms the city’s streets - especially around the Old Town - into a lively marketplace filled with handmade crafts, folk art, and local delicacies. Artisans from all over Lithuania come to showcase their creations, from wooden toys and pottery to traditional woven fabrics and jewelry. The air fills with the scent of fresh bread, honey, smoked meats, and herbal teas, creating an atmosphere that perfectly blends heritage, craftsmanship, and community spirit.

One of the fair’s most enchanting features is its colorful parades and performances that bring folklore to life. Dancers in traditional costumes, folk musicians, and street performers fill the streets with song, rhythm, and laughter, turning the event into a joyful celebration of Lithuanian culture. The vivid decorations, handmade palm bouquets (verba), and festive processions create a carnival-like mood that captivates both locals and visitors.
