Mr. Nabetani, who is involved in kendama manufacturing at the Hatsukaichi Lumber Utilization Center, faces the woodworking machine with a serious look in his eyes. He is determined to preserve the techniques of his teacher, who made kendama for many years in Hatsukaichi City, which is considered the birthplace of the kendama. He makes approximately 2,000 kendamas every year.
