Ke'a tuki (Stone pounder)

Ke'a tuki. Stone pounder. This ke'a tuki (pounder) has been worked and smoothed from porouspo'atu (stone). It has a large circular base, rounded at the edges and flat pounding surface. The shaft of the ke'a tuki is narrow at the neck and flares out towards the base. The ke'a tuki is topped with a grip that has four raised knobs at its top surface. The ke'a tuki is grey in colour.
