This features scenes from the fairy tale Cinderella - including the clock striking midnight, Prince Charming, the fairy godmother, and a glass slipper. By the end of the 19th century, batiks with scenes from popular fairy tales were fashionable with Eurasian batik-makers, who copied such designs from book illustrations.
