Kebaya and sarong

Colours for the sarong and kebaya become increasingly vivid in the 1950s. Demak, along Java's north coast, became well-known as a manufacturing centre for boldly-hued and intricately drawn batiks, which were shipped throughout Indonesia and to Singapore.
