This is a blue and white porcelain kendi (water vessel) in the shape of a crescent moon, with a spout that emerges from its centre. The spout is used to pour water or other liquid into and out of the vessel. Both pointed ends of this piece are decorated with silver tips in the form of cones. Kendi in this particular form have not been found anywhere else, so it can be assumed that this piece was custom made during the Ming Dynasty.
