Kevin Kenner has had a long and wonderful career over the course of 30 years since he first came to Miami. One of the youngest competitors in Warsaw in 1980 (awarded a distinction) Kenner returned to the International Competition in 1990 and was the first American to take the top prize since Garrick Ohlsson in 1970. He remained in Europe and taught at the Royal College of Music in London. In 2015, he returned to Florida to teach at the University of Miami and served on the US Competition jury that year. In 2018, he founded the Frost Chopin Academy and Festival at UM in partnership with the Chopin Foundation, and in 2020 chaired the US Competition Jury. He serves on the International Chopin Competition as well and is widely recognized as an important international performing and recording artist. The Chopin Foundation is honored to have Mr. Kenner as a key member of the orgnization.
