A number of khaat are often placed in the chaupal to be used by the men who gather there. A chaupal is also used to host large groups of guests on occasions such as weddings. The khaat are used by the guests to sleep on. Such khaat are either donated by individuals or are commissioned using collective funds. This khaat, recorded in an old chaupal of Umra village, was commissioned from the collective funds.
