Kid Cudi was born Scott Mescudi in Cleveland, Ohio. He showed artistic talent early on and began rapping during high school. After a year in college, he moved to New York City to pursue a music career. In 2008, he released his first mixtape, A Kid Called Cudi, which introduced his positive, psychedelic-space-themed style. Cudi then began a string of guest appearances with artists including Kanye West, the Black Eyed Peas, and Solange. Kid Cudi's debut album, Man on the Moon: The End of the Day, was released in 2009. The album includes the GRAMMY-nominated singles “Day ‘n’ Nite” and “Make Her Say.” His most recent studio album, Entergalactic (2022), was accompanied by an animated Netflix special of the same name. Cudi is also an actor, recently appearing in the Academy Award-nominated Don’t Look Up (2021) and the critically acclaimed horror film X (2022).
