Jadwiga Sawicka's art is often described as „written painting” because the artist uses phrases and headlines taken from newspapers, adverts or the Internet. The words, which are an independent motif of her works are carefully selected in view of their greatest potential to inspire essence. A strong message stirs the imagination and allows the viewer to construct a story that may hide behind these words. Sawicka deliberately copies the letters carelessly and incorrectly by depriving them of diacritics.
