King Adolf Fredrik's Seal

The most prominent aspect of this seal is the fact that it displays the royal achievement without mantling and supporters. Instead we find the three Swedish royal Orders surrounding the escutcheon. Sweden had, until 1748, no chivalric Orders of official status and royal achievements were therefore usually lacking such decoration. The innermost chain is the Order of the Polar Star, the second chain the Order of the Sword and the third chain the Royal Order of the Seraphim.
