At sunset on the coronation day (25 February 1926), the king and the queen proceed to the State Bedchember in the Chakrabarti Biman Hall, attended by ladies of the court bearing articles of personal and domestic use. A golden key, symbol of access to royal residences and treasury, was given to the royal couple.
