A straw hat called "boater" is made of organic material, probably straw, and black fabric ribbon around the hat. Inside the hat is stamped with two trade marks and alphabets P.S., possibly derived from Prince Prajadhipok Sakdidej, the King's name when he was a prince.
It is believed that the hat was a part of a uniform in a rowing competition at Eton College, but later on, the hat is only worn on the Procession of Boats on Fourth of June to celebrate the King George III's Birthday.
The king had this hat when he participated in the rowing at Eton College. He joined the rowing team as a cox to compete in Novice Eights Competition which required 8 rowers and a coxswain or cox who steers the boat.
