The big crack, which divides the bowl into two parts, is jointed with gold lacquer. The trace of hard press with roughly-woven cloth like linen can be recognized at a place under the lip. The deliberately distorted body is deeply shaved out from the foot to the hip, expanded outward above the waist, curved slightly inward at the mouth. The body of porcelain base clay is coated with white glaze, and its uneven coating gives a tasteful appearance. Sand is left adhering to the bottom edge inside which tokin (peak shape) can be seen.
