Kinkakuji (Kinkakuji Temple)

This print is part of Hiroshige's series "Famous Views of Kyoto". Hiroshige became well known outside of Japan in art circles due to the Japonism movement. Western artists, particularly Impressionists and Post-Impressionists, were inspired by his designs. Van Gogh is known to have painted copies of his prints.
