Kiseru (Japanese pipe)

It is considered that the smoking habit took root in Japan during 1624-1644. At first, the long kiseru like this became popular among Japanese people. Many genre paintings in those days portray the people enjoying their relaxed time, and there can be seen the attendants holding their master's long kiseru.
