Kitty Prosser

In 1820 the artist George O. Delamotte painted a series of watercolours showing characters from various parts of South Wales in their everyday clothes. This is one of those images that portrays a woman named Kitty Prosser. His portraits give us an idea of the dress of ordinary people at the beginning of the nineteenth century, often showing signs of the poverty and hardship of their lives.
