Charles "Snowy" McAlister was an Australian surfing pioneer from early last century, living most of his life at Manly in Sydney. A three-time national surfing champion in 1926/27/28, this is one of his swimsuits from that era - a woollen one-piece Klingtite outfit. A tireless promoter of the sport throughout his life, Snowy and four-time world champion Mark Richards were the first inductees into the Australian Surfing Hall Of Fame in 1985.
