Acácio Lino de Magalhães was born in Travanca, Amarante, on the 25th February of 1878 and died in Porto on the 18th April of 1956. He was a Portuguese painter and sculptor. He studied in the School of Fine Arts in Porto, finishing his studies with distinction, he was a pupil of the painter Marques de Oliveira. Later, he does his internship in France with Jean-Paul Laurens and Carmon, in Italy and Switzerland. After the death of the sculptor Teixeira Lopes, Acácio takes his place in the School of Fine Arts in Porto. With an innate ability and a refined technique “threshes Memories”, this painter stood out in the naturalistic and historic painting, also embarking the portraits and religious themes.
