Knightstone Island and the Marine Lake, Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset

This oblique aerial view shows Weston's Marine Lake, formed between the mainland and Knightstone Island. A barrage had been constructed by 1929, which allowed for relatively safe bathing and boating for visitors. During 1929, more than a quarter of a million people used the Marine Lake.
