Knox engines were manufactured by the Camden Anchor-Rockland Machine Co. in Camden, Maine, in their foundry located where Megunticook Stream enters the harbor. Known for their fine workmanship, they were used by lobstermen, fishermen and summer people. The line of engines included single- and multi-cylinder marine engines, and stationary engines for farm use. The company also sold complete launches.
