View of Koko Head crater, a *tuff* cinder cone, created by the Honolulu volcanics, the last active volcanic explosions that occurred on Oahu beginning approx. 100,000 years ago. The most recent dating of lava from Koko Head was only 7,000 years ago. This image shows the vegetated but eroded west-facing side of the crater travelling eastwards along Kalanianaole highway.
