The so-called "Colchic Amazon" - relict wetlands of the Tertiary Colchic Rainforests – is located in the River Pichori Valley. The plants here are accustomed to frequent floods and inundations, and alder trees are dominant. The Hartvis oak, Phloem, ash-tree, fig and pomegranate are just some of the species that appear on the Georgian Red List of endangered species that can be found in this area.
