The princess’s facial features, especially the elongated face, prominent chin, and curving neck, are derived from depictions of her father Akhenaten. A peg below the base of the neck indicates that this head was made for a composite statue. Traces of paint in the lines of the face, and the empty eyes and eyebrows suggest that the head was already painted and inlaid with faïence, glass, or valuable stones, which must have been removed when Akhetaten (Amarna) was abandoned.
