This Koran is an outstanding example of those produced in either Shumen or Istanbul and decorated in court style with overtones of the Shumen style of decoration. The surah al-Fatihah and first four verses of the surah al-Baqarah are surrounded by saz leaves, ribbons, large bouquets with green leaves and garlands painted predominantly in dark pink on a gold ground. The surah headings on the same page are written inside small oval medallions, and the verse stops and elongated letter sin of the Besmeles are illuminated.Reference: Tanındı, Z., Harmony of Line and Colour, Illuminated Manuscripts Documents and Calligraphy in the Sadberk Hanım Museum Collection, Sadberk Hanım Museum Publication, İstanbul 2019, pp. 132 - 135.
