In summer 2004, "Kenny Scharf: California Grown" opened at the Pasadena Museum of California Art as the Museum’s first tri-level exhibition—with paintings, bronze sculptures, a screening of "The Groovenians" (Scharf's animated series for Cartoon Network), and the transformation of the parking garage into the Kosmic Krylon Garage. Post-exhibition, Scharf's colorful, whimsical murals spray-painted over the course of a week remained on the walls and continue on as the Museum's only permanent installation. The Kosmic Krylon Garage is on view during regular operating hours.
