Kotchakampravet Prasat possessed a ‘prasat’ which is a multi-tiered architectural element reserved for a King. Kotchakampravet Prasat was located to the front of Buddhaisawan Chapel, which was in the center court of the Front Palace. During the reign of King Rama V, the role of the Front Palace was diminished; as such, there was no longer a Second King or Viceroy in the Palace. This photo was taken of a Russian Entourage’s visit during the reign of King Rama V, a period in which the space had already been converted into a Royal Museum.
