The miners' association hospital in Quierschied was equipped with - at the time - highly modern hospital technology and equipment. In case of sickness, treatment of the miner as well as his family was free of charge at the miners' association hospital. The "Saarknappschaft" (literally: "Saar Miners' Association") and "Bergbauberufsgenossenschaft" (literally: "Mining Professional Association") provided comprehensive insurance coverage.
