Kreitmann, Charles Alexandre Louis (X 1870 ; 1851-1914)

He went through the School of Application of Artillery and Military Engineering (Ecole d'application de l'artillerie et du génie) and started at the 1st Engineering Regiment of Versailles where he was attached in 1875 to the French military mission in Japan. He was in charge of teaching fortification and topography at the Japanese Military School until 1878. After returning to France, he embarked for the Far East in 1885 where he was Chief of Staff from engineering to the body of Tonkin until 1886. Appointed colonel in 1904, he ensured the acting command of the Ecole Polytechnique. Promoted to brigadier general, he was confirmed in his command from 1908 to 1911
