Ravi Varma's superb Puranic painting of Sri Krishna as Envoy assimilates all the drama of the Mahabharata. Dharmaputra (Yudhistra), the eldest of the five Pandavas requests Krishna to find a peaceful way out of the impasse. Functioning as an envoy, Krishna goes to the court of Dhritarashtra, father of the Kauravas. The Kauravas are incensed by Krishna's placatory attitude and try unsuccessfully to tie him up and imprison him.
