Kru/Grebo Mask

The tubular, protruding eyes are a characteristic feature of the traditional sculpture of the Grebo/Kru, a people inhabiting the border between Côte d'Ivoire and Liberia, who became known for their excellent navigation and fierce resistance to the processes of transatlantic slavery and colonial occupation.
