This porcelain figure of Kwan-Yin, the Goddess of Mercy is dated back to the 17th century (Ming dynasty) and was made in a factory in the city of Zhang Zou. The Goddess is seated on a lotus flower with her right hand on the right knee and the left hand on the ground. The inscription at the bottom says that this was an offering made at the Kaiyuan temple by three devotees.
