Kyōgen mask Buaku

This demon mask is said to be derived from the Noh mask of Beshimi. Though he is presenting a bold front by biting his lower lip, he looks comical because of his turned-up and downward slanting eyes. The mask is used not only for a demon but also as a “mask” worn by a character to threaten others.
