Gold medal won by C.H. Gardner (hurdler) for first place in the 120 Yards Hurdles. Event held as part of the Commonwealth Games celebrations in Sydney, 1901. Obverse features the six badges of Australia's states with England's badge and a crown at the top. Text in legend reads, "COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA / 1901".
