"La Difesa della Razza Scienza, documentazione, polemica" was a fortnightly magazine edited by Italian scientists to spread racist theories of the time in support of fascist racist legislation. On the cover of the magazine on display there is a photomontage depicting the profiles of three heads representing the "human races": the white "Italic one", separated by a Roman gladius from the "Jewish one" and the "African one". The intent was to contrast the representation of an ancient and superior cultural model and a lower characterized by physical stereotypes; this was implemented through the articles published on the magazine which contributed widely to the diffusion of stereotypes and prejudices, also through the massive use of photography and photomontage.
