Located at the foot of Jenner St., across from what was originally the Casa de Mañana Hotel, the La Jolla Children’s Pool and beach is formed by an engineered breakwater and accessed by a bi-level staircase. Philanthropist Ellen Browning Scripps hired hydraulic engineer Hiram N. Savage created the protected swimming area in 1931.
