As the Cordwainer College Collection consists of teaching aids and examples of students’ work, it includes many experiments in construction, technique and design. This front-lacing boot was presumably designed to be worn by a sheep with a damaged or injured hoof. The shoe would provide a protective support and frame for the animal’s hoof. It was made in around 1900 and is made of leather.
