This is a lidded box with a painterly depiction of blossoms, bamboos, birds and butterflies. On the side, there are blossoms and bamboos arranged in a symmetrical way with cranes sitting on a pine tree. Side wrappers were added for rigidity where two sides meet. It seems like a piece that was made during the mid Joseon Dynasty, judging by the decorative patterns, techniques and the blackish red colour of the lacquer.
