Lacquered box inlaid with Mother-of-Pearl

This red-lacquered box is generously decorated with mother of pearl. The edges of the box were smoothened, and the peony on the top was artificially cracked for glossiness. Stems of the peonie are represented using copper wires. This is an elaborate box with sophisticated ornaments.
