The watercolor, signed on the lower right by Boldini, shows a sleeping lady sunk between the cushions of a large sofa, painted with simple and sinuous lines. The large pink dress, trimmed with fur, reveals the left arm abandoned inert, while the face in profile in dim light reveals a straight nose and thick eyebrows. The neutral background is filled with more seductive brushstrokes in the upper part: towards the lower part it's more diluted to emphasize the sunken pose of the female figure. The drawing, perhaps preliminary to a painting, is rendered with a masterly virtuous watercolor.
