Sekhara Warrier, one of the contemporaries of the eminent artist Raja Ravi Varma, followed the artistic nuisances of the Legend. Striking similarities can be found between their paintings.

Not much is known about Sekhara Warrier. He belonged to an old Warrier family in Kilimanoor. Unlike Raja Ravi Varma, his contemporaries such as Sekhara Warrier, Madhava Warrier, Mukundan Tampi and others, never stepped out of Kerala, and hence they remained court painters.
