Wooden scale model of a Landing Craft Mechanized (LCM) boat. Made by Higgins Industries. In October 1942, FDR visited a New Orleans factory operated by Higgins Industries, which built military landing craft. Company president Andrew Jackson Higgins later gave Roosevelt this model of a Higgins landing craft. On display in the World War II area of the Permanent Exhibit. Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library Museum Collection.
