Captivated by the beauty of this small medieval town and by its subtle northern atmosphere, Columbano allowed himself to be conquered by a visual exercise that captures, with the most acute sensitivity, real places by way of blurry color patches that transform architecture into hazy figures. The depiction of the landscape doesn’t abide by any realistic desire; instead it allows our imagination to run free as it resorts to a wide range of chromatic combinations and perspectives that blur the boundaries of reality and relies on an eagerly sought harmony of rosy and grey ochre.
