This work by Antoni Michalak comes from the period during which he studied at the Fine Arts School in Warsaw. Together with his colleagues and professor Tadeusz Pruszkowski, the painter would come to Kazimierz to participate in outdoor painting sessions. He ended up settling down in this town. The painting is maintained in dark hues, typical of works of all members of “Bractwo św. Łukasza” [“Saint Luke’s Brotherhood”], to which Michalak also belonged.
